Our Boys Volleyball team made history this spring, capturing their first-ever CHSAA Championship in a thrilling five-set match against defending champions St. Joseph by the Sea. After dropping the first two sets, the team showed incredible resilience, storming back to win three straight sets and cement an unforgettable 14-1 season with their eighth consecutive victory.

This historic run was powered by standout performances that ranked among the absolute best in the state:

Eric Stankiewicz (Jr.): Led the team's offense, finishing #1 in the state in serving aces and #2 in kills.

Petar Madzharov (Soph.): Dominated the stat sheet, finishing #2 in the state in serving aces and #4 in assists.

Aleksi Pilinci (Jr.): Anchored the court, ranking #3 in the state in both total assists and serving aces.

Congratulations to our champions on a legendary season. The future of SJP volleyball is incredibly bright!

Title Defended: Men's Basketball Secures Back-to-Back Championships!

The St. John’s Prep Men’s basketball team successfully defended their crown this winter, cementing their status as the champions of the Division A City. The Red Storm put on a masterclass in resilience and skill, finishing the season with an outstanding 22-5 overall record and a dominant 10-1 mark in district play.

The championship journey culminated in a thrilling victory over St. Joseph’s by the Sea at Fordham University to secure the league title, propelling the team all the way to the State Semifinals.

This historic title defense was anchored by a powerhouse trio:

Richard Fernandez (Jr.): Led the offense with an explosive 25 PPG.

Daquan Bryant (Sr.): Contributed 15 PPG and earned the prestigious CHSAA League "Point Guard of the Year" award for his elite leadership on the court.

Myles Perry (Sr.): Provided crucial veteran presence, averaging 8 PPG.

"Athletic excellence is something St. John’s Prep prides itself on, and we aim to continue that tradition each year," said Athletic Director Jason Bigeni. "We’re beyond proud of our successes and hope to bring more championships to these halls."

Congratulations to our student-athletes and coaching staff on an incredible, unforgettable season!
